A large portion of our clients are individuals going through a transitional period in their life. Whether it’s transitioning from school into the work environment or dealing with an event out of your control, we want to be the support network to help you begin the next chapter successfully. At The Choice Group, our mission is to help you achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself. If you’re unsure of your next step, we’d be happy to help you explore your options. We want to empower you and instill confidence by giving you the tools and knowledge you need to succeed.
Working is a fundamental part of life for those with and without disability. It provides a sense of purpose as well as self-esteem. Along with providing mental and physical health benefits, working is a part of a well rounded and healthy lifestyle that brings you closer to economic self-sufficiency. People encountering barriers to employment, such as disability or chronic conditions who want to work, should be provided the opportunity of gainful employment. At The Choice Group we strive to provide individually tailored training and job development skills based on interests and compatibility. We have computer technology and skills training both on and off-site to help get you work-ready.
— We have Job Coaches available with initial intensive on-site training. The goal being to achieve complete integration within your workplace by developing communication and problem solving skills. As our client you will be provided with ongoing support services through any changes you may experience in your work environment.
— In some cases we are able to offer vocational “try-outs.” In the past we have coordinated with multiple employers to give you on the job experience during a given work day in order to gain real life experience in a potential job position. This gives you the opportunity to see what does and doesn’t suit you about certain work environments and narrow down decisions from there. Hands on is the best way to learn.
**Knowing what a change in employment status means for your federal or state benefits can be confusing. Many people avoid pursuing the goals they want to achieve because they are afraid of losing benefits. We have many experienced Work Incentives advisors to address those concerns and help you make informed decisions about working. In some cases, pursuing employment can extend benefits for a period of time without having to go through the disability review process. We don’t want you to be caught off guard or fearful of pursuing your employment goals because you don’t know what it will mean for your benefits. Our advisors will guide you in understanding how and when your benefits might change so you aren’t taken by surprise. **
We have a wide array of clients at various stages in their lives, which means we provide a wide array of services. Some of our clients include families and individuals:
